Case Study: Major Retail Chain – Digitally Printed Manual

A major Midwestern retail chain came to us in hopes of relieving some of the burden associated with putting on a major spring/summer merchandising training session for its managers. In years past they had used internal staff to produce, print and collate printed material into binders. This had proven to be a strain on the department from the standpoint of department resources (people and machines) being tied up on this major project.

HC Miller stepped in with a plan that cut down on the necessary lead time which allowed them more time for planning. Before moving forward with the proposed plan this retailer analyzed and found that not only would they save time and resources but also found that outsourcing this complex project saved them money over doing it themselves. In addition, because of HC Miller’s new state of the art equipment, the quality of the finished product was superior to what had been done in the past.

Case Study: Customer Service

A major metropolitan print dealer that has been a client of ours for many years unfortunately lost a long time sales person to a competitor. This dealer was very concerned about protecting his client base and needed to be up to speed on some of the ex-sales persons clients very quickly. One client in particular had a very large repeat order that had to be processed. Kathy, a long-time customer service representative, handling this account was able to walk this customer through the sale, providing the dealer with the right questions to ask, helped them understand the terminology and also coordinated production to meet the needs of the end user.

Not only did this dealer protect what could have been thousands of dollars of lost business but also helped educate and make existing staff that much more prepared for future index tab related sales opportunities.
