Humanscale’s award-winning seating lines are all built on the belief that form follows function.

Designed by legendary industrial designer Niels Diffrient,
Humanscale’s flagship chair was first introduced in 1999
and broke new ground for task chairs. It combines unprecedented
functionality with minimal manual controls, utilizing dynamic
mechanisms that adapt to each unique user automatically.

Diffrient’s second chair for Humanscale,
Liberty, features
the same dynamic functionality as its predecessor. Liberty
set the bar for mesh seating with its revolutionary Form-Sensing
Mesh Technology, a tri-panel configuration of non-stretch
mesh that provides tailor-made lumbar support without the
use of external devices.

The Diffrient World chair combines Liberty’s Form-Sensing
Mesh Technology with minimal manual controls, forming Niels
Diffrient’s most intuitive chair yet. Diffrient World utilizes
advanced mechanism-free recline action that adapts to the
unique needs of each individual user.

Named after the Spanish word for “belt,” Cinto has a unique
floating backrest that moves and adjusts to the sitter’s
body for perfect comfort. Features stress-relief cross-slits
in the seat pan to distribute body weight, Cinto breaks
the Number One rule for stacking chairs—it’s comfortable!
